Leadership

What is needed right now in the Ventura Community College District is effective leadership. The District is at a crossroads with 2 of 3 Presidents removed and the Chancellor’s contract not renewed. Such instability takes energy away from the core work of helping students achieve their educational goals and cannot be allowed to continue. It is time for a change to insure stability for all.

Experience

For 40 years, I have taught history at Glendale Community College. I know the students and their needs. My experience in community colleges extends well beyond the classroom. I have led college departments and worked alongside faculty, staff, students and administrators to solve problems, manage resources, support students, and build strong academic programs. I understand how Community Colleges work.

Communication

At every stage of my career I have found that clear, open communication can solve even the most difficult challenges. By breaking down preconceptions and challenging assumptions through open dialogue, even the most difficult situations can find resolution where all participants know they have been heard.
